Derived from its name, The Metro, the site and landscape design reflect an abstraction of metro train maps and motion - identifiable in both the streetscape design and the rooftop landscape and plaza. Residents escape into an oasis in the middle of downtown Salt Lake to enjoy lawn, planters, hot tub, barbeque grill, overhead trellis and planters. During the evening, the plaza comes alive with LED lights beneath glass pavers, drawing attention to its metro-inspired pattern. ArcSitio Design implemented its roof-garden expertise and coordinated the details for drainage, grading, landscape, irrigation, etc. with the Architect and Engineering team, creating this outdoor roof-top amenity for residents.
